As a Supply Chain Planner, you are responsible for planning and purchasing parts and materials. You ensure that orders are placed on time and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand. In case of delays, you take immediate action to ensure delivery. This role requires frequent coordination with various disciplines within our organization. The role consists of 75% operational procurement and planning and 25% strategic purchasing  tasks. Your key responsibilities include:

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
• Placing and following up on purchase orders to ensure a continuous material flow.
• Releasing work orders for assembled products.
• Preparing and managing forecasts for required components.
• Collaborating with the finance and logistics departments for invoice and inventory management.
• Negotiating with suppliers on pricing, delivery times, and quality.
• Maintaining and optimizing supplier relationships in line with business strategy.
• Monitoring and updating ERP systems and supplier data.
• Identifying improvement opportunities and implementing optimizations in procurement processes.

Who are we looking for?

Since you will be part of an international team with colleagues based abroad, it is essential that you can work independently. You will be based at our Maastricht location, working alongside colleagues handling different product groups within STERIS. Additionally, we are looking for someone who:

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Alternatively, holds an MBO degree with 5-7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Has advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Has experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and Master Planning.
• Has excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Possesses strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Has strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
